Introduction:
I installed the Beta II version of the Lotus Domino 8.5 server to test the new DAOS functionality.
The tests were all successfull, all worked brilliantly (even tried very large databases and got the logical size of the database up to 88GB). I experienced no problems in compacting databases, adding attachments to DAOS enabled databases and then retrieving them back.
I upgraded this server with the released version 8.5 of the Lotus Domino server. At first everything seemed to be working fine. I could read all the attachments stored in the DAOS when using the Beta II version of the server
All the DAOS enabled databases have ODS51.
The problem:
However I'm having problems when creating new documents and inserting attachments into them (in DAOS enabled databases).
In the server console I get the error:
"The database D:\Lotus\Domino\Data\DocLib2.nsf was unable to write to the file D:\TEST\DAOS\0001\4B8A....nlo Release 8.5 December 05, 2008"
Similar things happen if I compact a database with the "-c -daos on" option. The same error occurs for each of the attachment the Domino server is trying to write to DAOS.
What I've tried:
I' tried to change the directory specification for DAOS. After each change I restarted the Domino server.
1) Changed the directory specifications in the DAOS tab in the server document. I set the new directory to D:\DAOSNEW.
What happens is the that a subdirectory 0004 is created under D:\DAOSNEW and the same error occurs on the server console. The task was able to create the directory 0004 but not the .nlo file itself.
2) Changed the directory specification do DAOS (so this should be relevant to the data directory)
Then I get the error:
"The database D:\Lotus\Domino\Data\DocLib2.nsf was unable to write to the file D:\TEST\DAOS\0001\4B8A....nlo Release 8.5 December 05, 2008"
I find this very strange because this is not the directory specified in the server documents.
It would be great to get some suggestion on what could be causing this and steps to solve.
